Here, to start, is the list of sections that I use to describe the type of date it is:
-
1. Dressing Up – This section delves into the fun you can have by wearing certain apparel on your dates!
2. Holiday “In” - If you read my first blog on dating, you saw that I suggested having Halloween on any day of the year except October 31st. This section concentrates on many of the other holidays that you can celebrate year round.
3. Let’s Have a “Ball” – This section isn’t so much about romance as it is about invigoration. It’s the sports section. Note: When you go on these dates, remember that it should be something that you both like to do!!
4. Town & Country “In” – These are dates that take place either around town or in the country…it’s that simple.
5. Not your “Run of the Mill” – People are usually so stuck in their dinner-and-a-movie routines, they forget some of these other ideas. These are dates that thousands of people are doing every day (or night).
6. Be a “Crafty” Couple – A lot of people are really good with their hands and they don’t even know it. This section gives you the chance to use your creativity to make something together that might even last forever.
7. Go For the Ride of Your Life – There are many modes of transportation. This section is dedicated to the use of some of these modes. And what a rush you’ll feel when the wind starts blowing through your hair, past your body, and into your soul!!
8. Romantic Differences – These dates are either romantic and sentimental or very unusual and unique. I put them together because I didn’t know where else to put them.
9. “’Partying’ is such sweet…” well…not sorrow, that’s for sure!! Sure it’s fun to go on dates where you and your partner are all alone…and yeah, it’s great going on a double date every once in a while…but there’s something about taking your date to a party that MAKES you have a good time!!
We’re in the “40’s” already…let’s go:
42- Events (from Section 3 “Let’s Have a ‘Ball’”)
When I say events, I’m referring to sporting events that you actually go to and watch as a spectator (although, I guess, there’s nothing that says you couldn’t also play these sports as a date)!! Being in the crowd is exhilarating, and when your team scores, and the crowd roars…WOW!!! Some suggestions…basketball, baseball, football, hockey, the races (there are lots of different kinds of races), gymnastics, rodeo, etc.

MONEY: $25.00-$50.00
43- Dancing(from Section 5 “Not your ’Run of the Mill’”)
With the club scene becoming more and more popular, this is one of those dating ideas that isn’t really very secret. Dancing not only starts and keeps your blood pumping through your veins (which is very healthy), it also enhances your creativity…with dance moves and adrenaline. It doesn’t matter if you only dance the slow dances, or just the fast dances, it makes you feel good…and romantic!! Why do you think so many people are doing it?

ROMANCE: 4
MONEY: $10.00-$25.00
44-Toga (from section 9 “’Partying’ is such sweet…”)
I’m sure you were expecting this one sooner or later!! If you’ve seen National Lampoon’s “Animal House” then you know what a “toga” party is. You dress up in togas (outfits that the Romans used to wear) and party. You can also have other kinds of dress up parties, i.e., masquerade, Mardi Gras, Halloween, etc.
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 1
MONEY: $10.00-$25.00
45-Blind Date (from section 8 “Romantic Differences”)
Go on a blind date as a blind person (of course, this will probably mean that it will have to be a double date)!! One time, when I did this, I had my date thinking I was really blind for about an hour. See how long you can go. there is another way to approach this, too. If it isn’t a first date, you could still have one of you wear a blindfold for the whole time…or trade off. You will begin to appreciate what real blind people have to go through. Plus, it makes you rely more on your partner…or vice versa.
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 1-4
MONEY: $0.00-$10.00
46-Horse and Carriage (from section 7 Go For the Ride of Your Life)
We’ve already talked about Horseback Riding in an earlier post, but this is a totally different animal…(so to speak)!! This one is very romantic…and though, within this category, we could also include rickshaws and taxicabs, it’s just not the same. there are many places you can rent a ride on a horse drawn carriage…take your favorite beverage and toast each other on the way to a romantic destination.
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 1-4
MONEY: $10.00 - $25.00
47-Celebrities (from section 1 “Dressing Up”)
Most people resemble at least one celebrity. Figure out which one you resemble the most and dress up like him or her for the length of the date. See if people can guess which celebrity you are. Make sure you give the guessers clues (like catch phrases or body movements). You could also hire some “paparazzi” to follow you around and take pictures…make sure you’re ready to sign autographs!!
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 1
MONEY: $10.00-$25.00
48- Snowball Fight (from section 4 “Town and Country ‘In’”)
This is the winter-time version of a water fight!! Build snow forts and make snowballs (no rocks or slush balls are allowed…you’re only playing). Try and capture each other’s fort. This would be great as a double date, also!!
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 1-4
MONEY: $0.00-$10.00
49- Valentine’s Day(from section 2 “Holiday ‘In’”)
You gotta have “heart” for this one. Decorate your place with heart-shaped balloons, posters, knick-knacks, etc.!! Make it a VERY romantic setting. Then “woo” like you’ve never “wooed” before. You in for a nice “heart to heart” time…no matter what your calendar says.
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 4
MONEY: $10.00-$25.00
50- Weight Lifting (from Section 3 “Let’s Have a ‘Ball’”)
This is a very invigorating pastime!! It is one that you want to make sure your date wants to do. Still, there is something mighty appealing about seeing your date all hot and sweaty after a nice workout on the weights…
FUN: 4
ROMANCE: 1-4
MONEY: $10.00-$25.00
51- Symphony (from section 5 “Not your ’Run of the Mill’”)
Close your eyes…a beautiful musical piece is playing in your head. You hear the strings enter softly, just a hint of trumpet playing in the background. A slow thundering tympani brings you into a more intense state. Now open your eyes and realize that these things are actually happening right in front of you on the stage. You can lulled into another world while you are just sitting in a comfortable chair in a large symphony hall. This time when you close your eyes, take your date by the hand…feel the electricity that is going through both of your souls. Fly…together…away…
FUN: 1-4

Excellent!! Now we’re more than half way through our list!! I can’t wait until I see you again!!
